A Place No One Remembers Now

Sometimes the moments return

Drawn by word or thought or song

Or even by a smell

And today by a mote in a sunbeam

Then memories flood

Some grab the throat and then the heart

As moments come alive

Bringing a smile at times

Squeezing out a tear at others

With thoughts of long lost days

Lost friends

Loved ones who have gone forever

Some so many years ago

Where we all lived, laughed, loved, cried

In places no one remembers now.
