ACCIDENTAL CHILI

4 pounds of hamburger

1 ½ large sweet onions

2 Green Bell Peppers

2 Red Bell Peppers

3 8 oz cans of Tomato Sauce

3 cans of Rotel Tomatoes, 10 oz

2 cups of Spicy V8

2 12 oz cans of Petite Diced Tomatoes w/ Jalapenos

4 tbls Chili Powder

2 tbls Cumin, ground

4 tbls sugar

2 sliced jalapenos

Brown the hamburger with the chili powder and the cumin.

Dice the onions and bell peppers in large pieces – about 3/4” square. Slice the jalapenos. (Remove the seeds if you want to lower the “heat” a little. Sauté’ the onions, jalapenos, and bell peppers in light oil or butter.

Drain the hamburger and place in a 6 to 8 quart chili pot. When the vegetables are soft (but before they are limp) place them in the chili pot. Drain the Rotel Tomatoes and Diced Tomatoes and place in the chili pot with all of the remaining ingredients.

Place the chili pot on a burner and simmer with medium heat. Stir frequently.

Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until mixture begins to boil. If sauce is too runny you can add 8 oz of tomato paste.

Comments: I was just trying to make something out of what was in the refrigerator and cabinets. This was it. 🙂 It accidently turned out to be chili.
