It’s Not a Lot Things But it is Christmas
Yeah, Jingle Bells is playing.
I’m trying hard to keep working
at this and that
and keeping those holiday thoughts
far, far away.
Of course, it’s not really that hard
for I’ve done it so many years
it’s more like habit
and perfectly natural.
Well, sort of, or maybe I should say
it is most of the time.
Most of the time.
For now and then, a single line
from one of those songs
sneaks in and strikes a chord.
Oh, it were only as light-hearted
as that awkward pun.
It’s not.

It’s Christmas.
