Leaves of Blue

Rain continues to fall

For the third straight day

Washing the green

From the early fall leaves

The day was filled with screams

And yells

From stadiums brought to a 19” screen

To a room otherwise quiet

While unpacking boxes

In the new house

Far away again

Somewhere in the background

Is the soft ticking

Of my old wall clock

Slicing the day into measurements

Of time

I am alone again

It is raining, it is fall, the clock keeps ticking

Autumn leaves should be blue
